Defence Force Recruitment are exclusive naming rights sponsors of the annual pre-season carnival the Defence Jobs AFL Carnival, and proud sponsors of the Defence Jobs Under 17 Academy.
The Defence Jobs AFL Carnival is an annual 3 day football carnival held at TIO Stadium, Darwin. The Carnival brings Indigenous community football sides from all over the Northern Territory to Darwin to compete.
Santa Teresa, the winners of the Army Community Division for the 2008 Defence Jobs AFL Carnival, won the opportunity to travel to Melbourne to play at the M.C.G. as part of the AFL's Indigenous Round. The side from Central Australia played a curtain raiser match to the 'Dreamtime at the G' match between Essendon and Richmond.
The Defence Jobs Under 17 Academy is designed to foster talented young Northern Territory footballers by providing them with the opportunity to participate in a structured representative program.
