2008 saw promising signs in Trent Hentschel’s comeback from major knee surgery after injuring his knee in 2006 against Port Adelaide. He made his long awaited comeback with the Eagles in the SANFL and played some good football both in attack and defence. He was on the verge of an AFL comeback but was frustrated with hamstring problems. His best pre-season since injuring the knee should see him put his hand up for a return to AFL football in 2009.
