Ted Liddy

A St Mary’s man through and through, Ted Liddy’s career was nothing short of superb throughout his 272 games for the Saints.

He started his playing career with the St Mary’s Colts at 15 years of age, took out the U17 Best & Fairest in 1973/74 and was the recipient of the Gerry Roe memorial medal in 1976/77. He captained the senior team for 7 seasons from 1981 to 1987 and played in an astounding 8 premierships between the years of 1983 to 1994.

Liddy captained the NTFL representative side in 1984 and represented the NT on 3 more occasions.

Had a brief stint at Morningside in the Queensland league, winning the club Best & Fairest in 1975 and represented Qld in the U19’s against the ACT winning Best on Ground for his performance.

Awarded Saints Life Membership in 1985 and NTFL Life Membership in 1988 he continues to make a huge contribution as a valued member of the AFLNT Board. We are proud to induct Ted Liddy into the AFLNT Hall of Fame.
