Basic Umpires Course

AFLNT’s Umpiring Department is responsible for the promotion, development and recruitment of umpires through the Northern Territory.

AFLNT is focused on attracting more umpires through initiatives that appeal to players in the sport and those wanting to learn what it takes to be a great umpire.

Each weekend, more than 300 field, boundary and goal umpires officiate NTFL matches – from the Under 10’s competitions through to the NTFL League competition

AFLNT Umpiring runs a Basic Umpires Course with future umpires taken through the principles of umpiring each year.

Every aspiring umpire will start off in the NTFL Junior League and with more than 70 football matches officiated by AFLNT managed Umpires across Darwin and Palmerston/Rural each week.

There are currently more than 300 umpires registered with the AFLNT Umpiring Department and 7 Northern Territory Umpires part of the AFLW Squad, who all started in the NTFL Umpiring system.

If you are interested in becoming an umpire or completing a basic umpires course please complete the form below.
