A brilliant ball player, Mark Motlop was the first NTFL player to reach the 300 game milestone. He played 261 games for Nightcliff, becoming the Tiger’s games record holder, 15 games for Wanderers in 1994/95 and then joined Southern Districts as playing coach where he played a further 29 games.

He won Nightcliff’s Best & Fairest award five times and was an important part of the Tigers 1978/79 and 1985/86 grand final sides. He captained the club in 1982/83 and 1986/87 and was coach from 1990 to 1993, returning for a second stint from 2007/08 to 2009/10.

He was the 1977/78 Nichols medalist having being runner up once and third 3 times.

Mark played 47 games for SANFL club Glenelg, and also represented the NTFL on 9 occasions.

Awarded NTFL Player Life Membership in 1990 he is also a Nightcliff Life Member. Mark Motlop’s contribution to NT football is tremendous and we are privileged to welcome him into the AFLNT Hall of Fame.
