What is AFLNT Women’s?

AFLNT Women’s sees talented female players compete against each other in a dry season competition culminating in a match against the Central Australia Football Club’s Pinktails team in preparation for the AFLW draft.

What have been some highlights?

As a result of being involved in the Women’s Academy Heather Anderson, Jasmine Anderson, Sophie Armitstead, Angela Foley, Abbey Holmes, Lauren O’Shea, Sally Riley, Stevie-Lee Thompson and Tayla Thorn represented the Northern Territory in the inaugural Adelaide Crows AFLW squad in 2017. The Crows went on to be the 2017 AFLW Premiers.

How do you qualify for this squad?

Athletes are identified through the NTFL, CAFL and local competitions and can also be nominated by someone from their club. They may also be invited to participate in the Women’s program following participating in the Women’s Under 18 squad.
