2010 AFL Draw Released - 2 Games @ TIO Stadium

The AFL released the official draw for the 2010 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, with TIO Stadium to host two premiership games in 2010.

The first of two games will be between Melbourne and Port Adelaide Football Clubs on Saturday May 22, 7.10pm local time.
Power star Daniel Motlop says thegames in Darwinare already marked in his calendar particularly the game in the Indigenous Round against Melbourne.
"It will be really exciting to play in theIndigenous Round game in Darwin. It’s obviously great for the local Indigenous people in Darwin to have a game like that staged at TIO Stadium and hopefully the whole community gets behind it.
"We’ve got five Indigenous players on our list and I’m sure they’ll want to play in the game and put on a good display. It won’t just be the players, it’ll hopefully be a showcase of Indigenous talent in general, and I’m sure there’ll be some good Indigenous entertainment before the game."
Melbourne CEO Cameron Schwab was extremely excited about the prospect of playing a game in Darwin considering the strong links between their club and the Northern Territory.
"We at Melbourne understand the importance of football to the social fabric of the Territory"
"We have three young players in Austin Wonaeamirri, Liam Jurrah and Aaron Davey who very much represent that fabric,"
"We are looking forward to bringing these boys back to the Territory and to Darwin to celebrate and recognise their achievements in the game thus far and are committed to this is a long term investment in football in the Territory."
TIO Stadium will host their second game under lights with the Western Bulldogstaking onPort Adelaide in Round 16, on Saturday 17 July 2010 at 7.10pm.
