Tonight, 13 of the Northern Territory’s greatest footballing heroes will be forever enshrined in glory when they are inducted into the AFL Northern Territory Hall of Fame at the Holiday Inn Esplanade Darwin.

"This will be our second induction evening following the very successful and popular one held at the same venue in 2010. This year we have inducted 10 Inductees along with three Legends who all have made incomparable contributions to Northern Territory Football," said AFLNT Hall of Fame committee Chairman Bryan Moroney.

The three legends that were inducted into the AFLNT Hall of Fame were, Nathan Buckley, Joel Bowden and Peter Burgoyne.

"These gentleman will join the elite field of Territory Footballers joining names such as Long, Kantilla, Dempsey, White, Rioli and Kantilla," said Moroney.

Presenting partner Thrifty Car Rental, Darwin are long time supporters of sport in the Northern Territory and are thrilled to partner with the event for the second time.

"Following the success of the evening in 2010 it was fantastic to be able to relive that evening as well as recognize and enshrine a new set of legends and inductees which is now forming as one NT Sports night of nights," said NT Group CEO of Thrifty Car Rental Rick Paul.

"We would love to be able to induct more however the thirteen men inducted in 2012 are a perfect sequel to those inducted in 2012," said Moroney.

"If someone you know didn’t make it this time and you think is deserved of this honour then we encourage all Territorians to nominate their chosen person at any time as nominations for future inductions are open to the public and we urge them to submit these to AFLNT for consideration so we can recognise those that have contributed to our great game."
