AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is exited to announce that for the 2017/18 TIO NTFL season a new standalone event will be held to present the best and fairest competition awards for all grades Under 18 and below.
Finals games scheduled for TIO Stadium and TIO Oval Two on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February will go ahead as planned. However, Round 19 TIO NTFL games and finals scheduled for Gardens Oval on Sunday 25 February will be moved to Asbuild Oval in Palmerston.
Today Tim Weatherald was appointed Head Coach of the NT Thunder women's team. Weatherald has plenty of coaching experience and an excellent understanding of state-based competitions after playing 311 games in the SANFL.

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is aware of an incident that took place between the coach of Southern Districts Football Club (SDFC) Men’s Premier League side, Shannon Rusca, and members of the independent Tribunal and AFLNT staff.
Keegan Dingo of Southern Districts Football Club contested the charge of rough conduct and was found guilty, while Cannis Tipuamantirmirri, of Tiwi Bombers Football Club was found guilty of behaving in an abusive manner towards an Umpire.
