TIO NTFL Match Review Panel: Round 7

Match Review Panel

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 7 of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season.

The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:

Men’s Premier League

Mathias Liddy, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 16 of Palmerston Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Saturday 17 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Liddy can accept a one-match suspension as an early guilty plea. 

James Rhodes, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 3 of St Mary’s Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Saturday 17 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.  

In summary, Rhodes can accept a two-match suspension as an early guilty plea.

All clubs have until 9pm ACST Tuesday to indicate whether the charged players accept the imposed sanctions or they wish to challenge at Tribunal.
