Sir Doug Nicholls Round and Michael Long

The game is also part of the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round, which celebrates the enormous contribution Indigenous players and their culture have made to the game of Australian Football. 

In an extra special occasion for the Northern Territory, Michael Long was selected as this year’s ambassador, so a few extra celebrations will form part of the game. Read about them here

Club Training Sessions on Friday 31 May 2019

Melbourne: No public training session*
Adelaide: 5:00pm – 5:20pm

*Fans can catch some of the Melbourne players (injured) and AFLW Melbourne players at Intersport Casuarina on Saturday 1 June from 12pm to 12:45pm.

Can be purchased online at www.ntix.com.au or at the Nightcliff Newsagency.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate at TIO Stadium, subject to capacity and availability.

Ticket Collection and Disability Access

General Admission and Grandstand tickets for game day can be collected from any of the three gates with valid ID. 

Corporate hospitality guests and tickets please refer to your separate instructions. 

Wheelchair accessible seats in the grandstand are pre-allocated and can be accessed via calling the NTix Box Office on 08 8980 3333.

General admission wheelchair accessible areas – flat ground available in the tiered area of the Family Friendly Area. These spots are on a first in, best-dressed case.

In the interest of public safety, all patrons entering the ground will be subject to security and bag checks. There will be separate queues for those who wish to purchase tickets (subject to availability) and those who do not have bags or do not require a bag check. Please follow the instructions of TIO Stadium staff and security and allow plenty of time to enter the ground and pass through the checks.  

Chair Zone

Patrons with General Admission tickets are able to bring their own folding chairs but must set these up behind the nominated white lines in General Admission areas.

Traffic Management

Traffic is one way on Abala Road from 2pm on game day. Please obey all directions from traffic managers and drive to changed conditions.

Access via Dante Road

Dante Road, which runs from McMillans Road and behind Warren Park (new rugby field) and onto Abala Road will only be opened for the buses to drop passengers and make a U-turn. All other walking patrons from McMillans Road are encouraged to enter via Marrara Drive, approximately 600 metres towards the airport. 

Public Transport

AFLNT and Buslink are pleased to offer ticket holders to this Saturday's AFL game in Darwin free rides from Darwin city, Casuarina, Palmerston and Rural areas (Humpty Doo and Coolaling) to get to and from TIO Stadium. 

Be sure to show your AFL ticket to the Round 11 Melbourne vs Adelaide game at TIO Stadium to your bus driver to take advantage of this offer. 

The bus drop-off pre-game and the pick-up post-game will be midway down Dante Road, which runs behind Warren Park (new rugby field).

Car Parking

Free parking is available at the Bonson Gate car park (airport side of complex), Marrara Indoor Stadium and the Hockey Complex car park and Warren Park on a first in best-dressed policy; Reminder: Parking on verges is not permitted.

Disabled parking is available at the Bonson Gate car park (airport side of complex).

VIP parking for TIO Stadium is available at the Bonson Gate car park (airport side of complex, pass holders only).

VIP parking for guests of the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre is available at the Ah Mat Gate car park (McMillans Road side of complex, pass holders only).

Strictly NO PARKING along McMillans Road.

AFL Record

AFL Records are available for purchase at all gates - $5.00 per record.

Lift Access

There is a lift available outside the TIO Stadium office – it goes to Level 2 (grandstand) and Level 3 (corporate).

Food & Beverage

Grass concourse before Oval 2 (various food, soft drinks and alcohol options available)
Level 2 – main bar, two wing bars, public canteen and BBQ stall (grandstand patrons only)
Level 3 – Karen Sheldon Catering available for sale, corporate guests have catering included (corporate guests only
General admission – near Oval 2, behind Family Friendly Area and next to Scoreboard Bar

ATMs

All food and beverage outlets accept EFTPOS but for specific ATMs:

2 x ATMs near Scoreboard Bar in outer
3 x ATMs on the concourse on Ah Mat Gate side at the back of the grandstand

Merchandise

Merchandise for both competing clubs and NT Thunder will be available from 5pm on the grass area before Oval 2, adjacent to food and beverage and ATMs.

Family Friendly Area

Located at the airport end of the Stadium. Note: there is strictly no alcohol available for purchase or permitted in the area. 

Auskick

Halftime Auskick participants are to meet at quarter-time at the AFL game outside the tunnel that is closest to the MLLLC end of the ground. All enquiries to Nicky – 0411 280 673.

Arena Access

There is no patron access to the playing arena on the completion of the NEAFL curtain-raiser between NT Thunder and Redland.
 
Post the Melbourne v Adelaide fixture, Kick 2 Kick for all patrons will occur after the second siren.

Anti-social behaviour

Report it to NT Police (base near the Bonson Gate), or to security who are located at all gates and at various areas around TIO Stadium.

Smoking

TIO Stadium and the MLLLC are smoke-free zones. Smoking areas are available next to each of the three entrance gates (Bonson, Ah Mat and Scoreboard).
