NTFL Tribinal: Finals Week Four

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) advises the independent Tribunal sat tonight, Wednesday 20 March, to hear two charges from the weekend’s TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 and Men’s Division 2 games.

Jayden Kickett, of Nightcliff Football Club, appealed before the Tribunal to answer the charge of head-butting player number 16 of Banks Bulldogs Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 Grand Final between Banks and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Saturday 16 March 2019.

Based on the umpire’s report the MRP classified the incident as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, issuing Kickett with a three-match penalty, or two matches with an early guilty plea. 
 
Kickett chose to contest the charge and pleaded not guilty. 

Upon hearing the available evidence, the Reporting Officer with the approval of the Tribunal downgraded the incident to intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

Upon being presented with the lesser classification, Kickett pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity, and the Tribunal issued him with a one-match penalty.

Chris Pick, of Banks Bulldogs Football Club, appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of rough conduct on player number 19 of St Mary’s Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 Grand Final between St Mary’s Sharks and Banks Bulldogs at TIO Stadium on Saturday 16 March 2019.

Based on the video evidence available the MRP classified the incident as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, issuing Pick with a three-match penalty, or two matches with an early guilty plea.

Pick chose to contest the charge and pleaded not guilty. 

Upon hearing the available evidence, the Reporting Officer with the approval of the Tribunal downgraded the incident to careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Upon being presented with the lesser classification Pick pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity and the Tribunal issued him with a reprimand.
