AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is delighted to announce the appointment of David Ross to its Board.
Ross is a former Chairman of the Indigenous Land Corporation, former Director of the Central Land Council and had extensive involvement with the administration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Commission and currently sits on a number of Boards around the Territory.
Admitting to having two left feet, Ross is looking forward to working with the people and communities who invest heavily in football in the Territory.
“If I can be of any help in moving football forward I’m more than happy to give my full support.
“It’s (football) a huge part of the Territory and if there is anything I can do to grow the game for all Territorians, that’s what I put my hand up for,” said Ross.
AFLNT Board Chairman, Ross Coburn said David is a very welcome inclusion onto the Board and brings a wealth of knowledge around how the Territory operates and works, particularly in remote communities.
“It’s fantastic to have a man of David Ross’ calibre joining our Board. It also adds the Central Australian connections, and allows us to have someone on the ground that has an understanding of what the game is all about and what we are trying to achieve right across the Territory with football in every region,” said Coburn.
Ross’ appointment was endorsed by the AFLNT for a three-year term at the last Board meeting held on Monday 2 December 2019 to commence as of the AFLNT Annual General Meeting.
