Incredible demand for Dreamtime in Darwin

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) has worked with our event ticketing provider, NTix and crunched the numbers for the Dreamtime in Darwin game between Essendon and Richmond with the data showing that 99% of tickets sold by 1:15pm, a mere 15 minutes after going on sale to the public.
A total of 1,379 tickets were sold by in the first five (5) minutes alone, representing 25 per cent of the venue's total capacity (5,461 patrons) as advised under TIO Stadium's COVID Event Plan.
The game was officially sold out at 1:40pm, with many people eager to see this historic occasion, unfortunately, missing out.
Due to social distancing protocols and COVID cleaning requirements, the allocation of tickets for matches at TIO Stadium are limited.
AFLNT has no doubt had the usual 12,000-odd tickets been available they would've also been exhausted.
Dreamtime in Darwin is going to be a culturally rich and unique occasion for all those in attendance, but it will translate just as wonderfully on-screen. It will be enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people around the country.
As is the case with the Gold Coast SUNS vs Carlton game, AFLNT is feverishly working on alternate ways and overflow areas so that fans can feel part of the occasion.
