Buffettes Delsey Ah Wang and Emma Collinson will this week reach the historic milestone of 100 games a piece when they take on Tracy Village at TIO Stadium on Saturday.
The milestone, fittingly reached by both women in the TIO NTFL’s Women’s Round presented by The Fred Hollows Foundation is an indication of the ever increasing depth of talent in women’s football in the Territory.
Buffaloes Premier League coach Mark Motlop commented on the big 100 game achievement of both women earlier this week in AFLNTv!’s In the Commentary Box, noting just two of the clubs Premier League players had reached that same milestone.
“For two of our girls to have reached that milestone in a competition that only started a few years ago is a big achievement,” Motlop said.
This weekend is TIO NTFL’s Women’s Round Presented by The Fred Hollows Foundation.
The Foundation has just announced a 12 month partnership with AFLNT to promote women’s health and wellbeing, including eye health, and support the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in sport.
Three of four senior women’s and youth girl’s fixtures will take centre stage on the famous grass arena of TIO Stadium.
Commencing at 12:00pm on Saturday November 29 Ah Mat and Collinson’s Buffettes will take on Tracy Village.
Manager of The Fred Hollows Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program Jaki Adams- Barton will also be in attendance to present the women with certificates for their achievement.
At 1:50pm top ranked Waratah will play Nightcliff with ABC broadcasting the final quarter live from TIO Stadium, a first for women’s football in the league, before the same Premier League teams take to the field at 3:20pm.

The ABC are ongoing supporters of women’s football beyond Women’s Round through their half-time segment during TIO NTFL coverage with Jessica Sullivan.
The female umpiring fraternity will also play a major role in the round with a full assembly of female umpires for the 1:50pm televised Waratah v Nightcliff clash, another first for the league.
An all female cast of boundary and goal umpires will be present in the 3:20pm televised Premier League fixture.
Senior Women’s games and Premier League fixtures will all be played with special edition Pink Sherrins across the weekend.
