New NTFC General Manager Appointed

Former Williamstown VFL club CEO, Brendan Curry, appointed as NT Thunder General Manager

AFLNT today appointed experienced football administrator Brendan Curry as General Manager of NT Thunder.

Brendan served as CEO of one of the strongest second tier football clubs in Australia, the Williamstown Seagulls, for 19 years.

In his time with the Seagulls Brendan Curry presided over stellar growth off the pitch and remarkable on field success.

He grew the club into a tremendously successful VFL club ,built a strong financial base to underpin the clubs operations and oversaw excellent alignments with Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.

Lincoln Jenkin, Chairman of NT Thunder is particularly impressed with Curry’s experience with talented player pathways

“Brendan Curry played a pivotal role in developing the Williamstown Seagulls alignment with the Western Jets TAC cup team,” Jenkin said.

“He has played a role in progressing many young players into the AFL and his experience with talent pathways will greatly assist young Territorians in the Thunder programs who have AFL aspirations.

“We are pleased an administrator with Brendan’s experience has agreed to take the NT Thunder forward as it strives to be the best second tier club in the country”.

Curry is looking forward to managing one of Australia’s most exciting and inspirational football clubs

“I am thrilled to be appointed GM of NT Thunder and look forward to working with the staff, sponsors, key stakeholders, exceptional volunteers who give so much of their time to the club and of course the exciting playing group that has been assembled for the 2015 season,” Curry said today.

“The NEAFL competition is improving every year and I hope that my football experience and knowledge can add value and bring more success to the NT Thunder going forward.”
