TIO NTFL Tribunal: Round 8

AFLNT advises the independent Tribunal sat last night to hear four charges from Round 8 of the 2020/21 TIO NTFL senior games. 
 
Men’s Premier League 
 
Jarrod Stokes, captain of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of striking player number 7 from Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League game on Saturday 21 November 2020. 
 
Stokes pleaded guilty to this charge and received a two-match suspension, with one week wholly suspended. 
 
Luke Kiel of Southern Districts Football Club appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of rough conduct in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League Game on Saturday 21 November 2020. The charge was classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.
 
Upon review of the video evidence, the Tribunal asserted there was insufficient force and withdrew the charge. 
 
Men’s Division 1 

Leigh McWhirter of Tracy Village Football Club appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of striking player number 20 from Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 game on Saturday 21 November 2020. The charge was classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact. 
 
The Tribunal withdrew the charge based on a lack of evidence. 
 
Women’s Premier League 
 
Tayla Thorn of Southern Districts Football Club appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of rough conduct in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League game against Nightcliff Football Club on Saturday 21 November 2020. The charge was classified intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact. 
 
Thorn pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Tribunal found Thorn not guilty.
