TIO NTFL Match Review Panel: Round 11

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 11 of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season.

The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:

Men’s Premier League

Cameron Stokes, of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with head-butting player number 34 of Southern Districts Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Southern Districts at TIO Stadium on Saturday 15 December 2018.

Based on a referral and video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Stokes can accept a one-match suspension as an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 1

Javadd Anderson, of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with striking player number 2 of Wanderers Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Darwin Buffaloes and Wanderers at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 15 December 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Anderson can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea. 

Adrian McAdam, coach of Southern Districts Football Club has been charged with behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an Umpire during the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Banks Bulldogs Football Club and Southern Districts at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 15 December 2018.

The MRP has referred the matter directly to the Tribunal. 

Men’s Division 2

Matthew James, of PINT Football Club has been charged with behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an Umpire at the end of the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between PINT and Nightcliff Spartans at the Marrara Cricket Ground on Sunday 16 December 2018.

The MRP has referred the matter directly to the Tribunal.
