BRFL

Competition football returns to Katherine with round 2 of the 2023 Sun Cable Big Rivers Football League (BRFL) tonight at Nitimiluk Oval.

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is proud to announce Sun Cable have recommitted as the naming rights partner for the 2023 BRFL and 2023 Barkly Australian Football League (BAFL) season.

Sun Cable is developing the world's largest solar energy infrastructure network in the NT, being one of the most reliably sunny places on the planet and making it possible to power whole cities with renewable energy.

Sun Cable Founder and CEO David Griffin said “Sun Cable is proud to continue its existing support as naming rights partner of the regional competitions. We’re a long-term partner for the Territory and are pleased to be part of supporting the teams and their communities across the Barkly and Big Rivers regions.”

AFLNT’s newly appointed BRFL Competition Lead, Shannon Jackson shares a few highlights for the 2023 season.

“This season will feature multiple themed rounds, starting off with NO MORE Round in Round 4, Bush Round will return in Round 9 and NAIDOC Round will feature in Round 11.

“Hosted in Barunga, Bush Round is a great initiative to ensure remote clubs can play a home game due to huge travel distances some communities commute each week.

“It’s great to have a strong partner as Sun Cable recommit for the 2023 season. Their continued support will help strengthen the leagues and continue to build key growth areas in our game.”

The 2023 Sun Cable BRFL Finals Series is set to commence from Saturday 2 September, with Grand Finals set for Saturday 16 September.
